4th of July

Hi my peeps.

I had a pretty chill 4th of July, it was Fantastic actually.

My husband and I decided okay whats the most fun things we can do today, so number 1 on the list was go see Despicable me 2 because we love those movies, 2 eat something terrible for you because we are American and we want to show our pride, and 3 play as much gamecube as possible.

The first thing we decided to do when we woke up was go thrifting, hello its 4th of july everything at Family Thrift Center was 50% off. I got a pair of old super highwaisted mom jeans and made them into cut offs that I didn’t even decide to wear that day. But when I will I’ll sure to show some pictures;) That totaled 4$, we got the game of Life for 2$, a weird 70’s t shirt with an American flag and bikers on it- 1$ and a brand new plastic wrapped Star Wars VHS 1$. So yeah that was pretty fun.

We got our movie tickets in advance. We purchased 2 tickets for 15 bucks at Costco, got a early bird 3D Special deal at the theater since we went at 10:40 in the morning and had a coupon for a free popcorn with the purchase of an icee. Blue Icee and popcorn for breakfast, that is what I am talking about. The movie was fantastic, a total hit. 5 stars for sure!

After the movie we headed to Frankie’s Steakburgers, which is a new joint in Abq, they are prob pretty common in other states. We enjoyed burgers, chili cheese fries, and custard. So So So yummy.

We ended the day with seeing some family, playing lots of video games, watching the Macy’s firework special on tv and the most amazing part was we got to watch illegal fireworks that our neighborhood lit from our backyard mixed with a bomb lightning show by mother nature. Then it rained thank god.

PS the other best part of the day is that I got to wear a super cute outfit, my blackmilk c3pio swimsuit, polka dot high low skirt, finished with a red belt and ronnie red lipstick!

Fun Filled Weekend

This weekend was really jam packed with things and I didn’t quite get everything I wanted to get done done, but it was really fun.

Friday we were pretty tired from the week so instead of cooking we went to Sprouts and got all our favorite little snacks and finger foods and we noshed. There was hummus, olives, cheese, french bread, roast beef, horseradish, whole grain mustard, poblano peppers, tomatoes, cucumbers, and some Castlerock Pinot noir. Afterwards we decided  go see Oblivion. I don’t really like going to the movies, I always feel like I’m getting ripped off, but we had free tickets from a while back and this was a movie that I was pretty interested in. I happen to LOVE sci fi, especially post apocalyptic movies. So we went to see Oblivion with Tom Cruise. I got really comfy in a hoodie and leggings ( I hate being uncomfortable and cold in the movies) put a scrunchy in my hair and we went. I really liked this movie, it had a nice little twist that I kinda guessed before it happened. Its weird, I might be the only one that does this, but when I watched the film I kept getting distracted by the personal beliefs of Tom Cruise and how he must really like doing Sci Fi films because of how it falls in line with his religion (which I don’t know too much about) I do have to say I really liked the movie, and I got to see my precious King Slayer, Jamie Lannister. (Can’t get enought GoT)

So on Saturday we went to the dog park. After being there for about 30 min we realized our dogs weren’t really having too much fun. Lily is kinda a loner and a little grouchy, and Molly is a alpha and wouldn’t let any dog smell her, get near her, or play. So we noticed a little patch of grass that was between two baseball fields that was vacant so we took the dogs there and played frisbee. It was a beautiful day and we really enjoyed ourselves. I have to say seeing my dogs happy and getting fresh air has to be one of the most satisfying things. I wish I had grass in my backyard. We are going to try to plant some this year. NM is just so dry and I hate feeling bad for using up our states water so I can have a lawn, but we are going to try a really resistant hardy grass.

After that we were exausted and accidentally took a 3 hour nap. When we woke up we went to a local brewery “La Cumbre” and picked up a growler of hefe for Daniel’s Dads Birthday. We went over and had beer, margarita’s, yummy appetizers, yuca, and pernil. Pernil is a way of cooking pork, Daniel’s step mom is from Panama and there food is pretty awesome. I think the highlight of the night for Daniel was playing with his little sister Sabina and doing experiments with her science kit.

Sunday it was Daniels B-Day Celebration with his friends and he wanted to go to HInkle Family Fun Center. Its not my favorite places (I like to avoid places with sticky children and all the chaos that comes with winning tickets and standing in line) But my husbands inner child loves this place and if it makes him happy then I am happy. We actually had a really fun time. I will post the pictures below! We finished the day off at O’Niells one of our favorite local irish pubs. We sat outside on the patio, and enjoyed good food and good drinks. Great way to finish of the weekend!

Banana’s inspired by nailpolishgalore

Hey!

I saw these banana’s on Nailpolishgalore’s blog and I fell in love with them! Aren’t they so summery and cute. Can’t wait to do these again with maybe different fruit on each figure. Or just a hand with pineapples! I thought it would be fun to do one hand in these great banana’s and the other in just some awesome bright red. This red is Essie hip-anema!

Weekend Stay Cation in Santa Fe

This past weekend my husband and I had a little stay-cation getaway in Santa Fe. He was teaching a stage combat class for a thespian festival happening for high school students. Which left me some time do some exploring on my own. It was really fun. We enjoyed lots of good food, most notably our burgers at Bobcat bite. Which were voted best burger in the US. We really like to dress up:) All the makeup you see was done by myself:) and the costumes were 75% made by me 100% put together by me! These are just something quick I did on the fly. My nails have been pretty busy lately and I wanted something simple and clean, with a touch of fun. I’m in a weird “I don’t want to wear mint green and flowers/not yet time for dark burgundy and black stage.” it’s a summer fall in between. Gotta pull out that white before labor day! What am I saying I never play by the rules:)

Botanical Gardens

This weekend we went to the botanical gardens. I’m kicking myself for not bringing my DSLR but these are some of the photos I took with my phone. I didn’t actually take any of the gardens thought haha. So enjoy some end of summer pictures of my husband and I. I’m planning on making a returning trip with my good camera to show you how awesome of a botanical gardens NM has:) Amazing place.

I love Chairlift I think that they are so innovated and special. This video in particular I think is amazing. I feel like what she is doing with her body expresses so much. My new goal in life is to learn this dance. And come on who doesn’t love watching a hot chick dance around in a unitard.

So it’s tax free weekend and daniel took me to buy some shoes;) I found these amazing glitter oxfords at shoes on a shoe string for 13$ can you even believe it!!!!! Here is the outfit I wore with my new kicks
